Rene Russo is the daughter of Shirley Balocca who was a barmaid who worked in a manufacturing facility as well as Nino Russo. She was born on July 25, 1970 at Burbank California. Her father a sculptor and mechanic left the family at the age of Rene was two years old and so her mother was able to raise Rene along with her sister Toni in a home with a single mother. Her mother and father were both of Italian, German, English and Irish origin. Rene suffered from scoliosis during her senior high school years, and required full-torso support. Jolly Green Giant was her nickname among her peers because of her height. She entered Burroughs High School along with her classmate Ron Howard and even though her brace had been removed she remained a loner. Rene did not have the ability to manage academics as well as the social side in high school. She dropped out in the tenth grade. As money was scarce and she was unable to afford full-time job over the next 18 months. A majority of these positions were for free. She sold refreshments at an entertainment venue that allowed her to see no-cost movies worked as a restaurant hostess where her food was free, and also worked as a store cashier at Disneyland in which she was granted access to free tickets.
